The Importance of Light: Our Award-Winning Lighting Design

If you’re seeking luxury long-term apartments in Barcelona with a unique architectural story, The Onsider offers more than just a place to live, it’s where design and comfort come together.

In 2023, The Onsider Mercè received the “Light for Heritage & Luxury Guests” award, recognizing the outstanding lighting design of this residence, a space where interior architecture and historical preservation meet modern innovation.

A story of light, design, and transformation
Originally built in the 17th century, the building that now houses The Onsider’s long-stay apartments has witnessed centuries of transformation. When it came time for its modern revival, we partnered with Anoche Lighting Design and the renowned Ricardo Bofill Taller de Arquitectura to reimagine the space with sensitivity, functionality, and beauty.

The result? A refined atmosphere where lighting enhances every original detail, from exposed beams to vaulted ceilings , while integrating energy-efficient technology like motion sensors and ambient LED schemes. This approach not only preserves the character of the building but aligns with our commitment to sustainable luxury living.

Beyond the award-winning architecture, our residences include exclusive access to amenities like a wellness spa, rooftop pools, and tranquil terraces, all designed to help you feel truly at home.

For us, it’s not just about accommodation. It’s about creating a lifestyle for those who value authenticity, comfort, and timeless design. This award reflects the care we invest in every detail of your stay.
